Baltimore native, Matt Davis has been a professional radio and TV host in the Maryland area for the past two decades. Ever since his high school years, Matt has played in bands, attended local shows, booked bands, promoted shows, and hosted radio shows that featured unsigned bands on every area radio station in which he has been on the air. Matt has worked at some of the top rock stations in the country including 98 Rock WIYY Baltimore, 94 WYSP Philadelphia, 92.3 K-Rock WXRK New York and 103.1 The Underground in Baltimore, and spent five years on Sirius XM Satellite Radio doing national programs on Boneyard, Hair Nation, Octane, Alt Nation and Classic Rewind! Over the last nine years, you might have also seen him on WBAL-TV 11 in Baltimore as the host for the Maryland Lottery drawings! He became known as an icon in Baltimore hosting the program Noise In The Basement on 98 Rock and as well hosted the Monday night concert series of the same name first held at Fletchers in Fells Point, then Baltimore Soundstage, and finally ending at the Ottobar. Matt has been a staple in the Maryland music scene, being nominated and winning recognition for all his hard work in the 2015 Maryland Music Awards.

In August 2015, Matt Davis gave notice of resignation to 98 Rock, something that came as quite a shock to many people. Intrigued by hypnosis since he was a child growing up in Perry Hall, he considered the chance to focus on his other passion too great to pass up. He temporarily relocated to Illinois to perform with Wand at private events across the country for 10 months doing 75 shows every 60 days. Davis said laughingly about reactions to the decision. “It's not the usual next step from a broadcaster.” Davis said he lost a lot of sleep over the decision but was determined to switch careers. “There was a part of me going, ‘I can't believe you're walking in here to hand over your resignation,’ but it was something that I knew I had to do,” He now is performing his own Matt Davis Comedy Hypnosis Show appearing all over the country, entertaining all types of organizations. This is the ultimate, real-life,reality TV show, where your friends, family, coworkers and fellow audience members become the stars of the show. You can see the show or be the show. Matt prides himself on not embarrassing anyone, so everyone comes away feeling good about his or her time spent on stage.

Don't worry though, Matt's passion for the Maryland music scene is still as strong as ever. Recently he became owner, operator, and financier of Charm City Radio, a non-commercial internet radio station which is not affiliate with any other business of entity. Charm City Radio is an internet radio station which exclusively features rock-based artists from Baltimore and surrounding areas in Maryland. Most of the music you will hear comes from unsigned, independent artists, but you will also hear many of the area bands that went on to acquire record deals and tour the world. The format of the radio station is rock-based but you will hear multiple genres featured on the station. You can listen to the station 24/7 via the internet or the free app by using the links on the HOME page of this web site. The app also has a calendar feature so you can keep up on where and when your favorite Baltimore artists are performing ! In addition Matt has been hosting a local concert series called Monthly Mayhem at Angel's Rock Bar in downtown Baltimore.
